Clip above is among my favorites. What else can be said of this masterwork of actors and performers, Kelly Lebrock, Gene Wilder, Stevie Wonder? Its subtitles are in a language I loved in childhood, when my grandmother would hug me and croon,"Ah malnino, you be good!"
I thought it was a good way to return to blogging after some months of rather demanding distractions. I just called to say I'm ok, trying to be good, etc.
I am very glad you are ok, and hope the demanding distractions are gone.
ReplyDeleteDear EC, me too! Yes, distractions are receding and my understanding proceeding apace. Always a ways to go though. Gentle video clips help.
DeleteDemanding distractions are unavoidable annoyances that increase with a fierce vengeance as we grow older (I speak from experience). It's reassuring to know you are okay, hanging in there......and being good.
ReplyDeleteDear Jon, Indeed,"..Troubles come not in single spies but in battalions." I quote the Bard, but only just after watching a ladybug crawl up an electrical cord on this computer, I tested it for delinquency by letting it board my hand. No problem. I carried it outside to a more rewarding life. Let's combat annoyance by helping pretty things....and being good. Deal.
DeleteThis is a song I love, one that reminds me of my husband and better times. I'm sorry you've had some demanding times lately, and I'm so glad to see you back to blogging. I hope all is well with you and your family.
ReplyDeleteO_Jenny, I am so glad to have regained enthusiasm for blogging. I've missed it. Too many things happened hard upon other things and and had to be attended to, adjusted to. I've just now struggled from Kelly Lebrock to relocating Coccinellidae and I'm still on my feet. You be too, dear Jenny.
DeleteIt was a great way to return to blogging and a great way to start off my Monday, Geo.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back!
Dear Bruce, Thanks! It's good to find some resolution and calm from figurative brushfires (I don't contend with literal brushfires 'til summer). When emergencies subside, I too like to glide into Mondays on Stevie Wonder tunes.
Deleteevery time I hear this song I remember working at a company and not being able to get along with this girl in the office.couldn stand her AT ALL. So she asked me maybe if we knew each others favorite song we would learn something about each other..She said my favorite song is I just called to say I love you...what's yours...I looked at her for a long minute and said 'what's love got to do with it.'..still don't like her. but love this clip.
ReplyDeleteDear Jackiesue, Interesting anecdote. Ms. Turner's song (also a personal favorite) opines: "You must understand, though the touch of your hand/Makes my pulse react
DeleteThat it's only the thrill.../
Opposites attract.../
You must try to ignore that it means more than that."
Which is quite serviceable counsel for coworkers and
all of us who dance through jobs and life together.
Welcome back. A lovely return. Cheers, Geo!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tom! When I saw this clip of two favorite actors and their kind faces interacting under Wonder's song, I decided to return.
DeleteBusy busy here with land - blogging getting done but it seems to have taken the place of actual human interaction. Welcome back xx
ReplyDeleteThank you dear Lisa, That is a kind of Busy-ness I understand, and trust your recently expanded acreage responds well to it. As for blogging, I'm for technology that makes human interaction more defensible during pandemics. Stay well, my friend.
DeleteSo you've been out of blogging too, Geo? I'm glad to hear that you are okay. I've been so preoccupied myself, that it took me a while to realize that I hadn't seen you in too long. You've been on my "To Do" List for a couple of weeks now, and finally I told myself I wouldn't go to bed tonight until I had gone to your blog to see what was up. Don't feel insulted that you have fallen through my "To Do" List in recent days. Everything has been falling through the cracks for me. Here's to both of us getting on top of blogging again! Now, I'm off to bed to finish reading the last 10 pages of Goff. Take care!
ReplyDeleteDear Louise, as a guy I've only heard of Goff as Philip Goff an Associate professor of Philosophy at the Central European University ; more frequently as Jerry Goff gridiron quarterback (Detroit?). Only this evening have I read of the fictitoius character of Goff which seems to involve butterflies. I'll keep an eye out for it. Sounds magical. Thanks! You take care too, deal?
